Meghann Mason

After a busy freelance career in Los Angeles, Meghann returned to the University of Houston to continue her education in Graduate studies- this time focusing on costume history and design.

In the middle of her Graduate career, she was offered a position as a wig technician for the world famous Cirque du Soleil. She packed her bags and moved to Sin City! While working at KÀ for Cirque du Soleil, Meghann finished her Master of Arts degree at The University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

She decided to leave KÀ in December 2019 to focus on the Academy full time and relocate the school to Houston. In addition to her work at Academy of Makeup & Wig Design she continues to work on the Entertainment Committee for Cirque du Soleil's One Night For One Drop, on her freelance career covering Film, Theatre, Ballet, Opera,  Special Events, Workshops, and more.  Covid-19 has changed plans slightly and while classes are still offered, she is also the Wig and Makeup Supervisor at the Houston Ballet.  Please contact her via email or phone to inquire about classes in 2022.

Meghann Mason, started out in the entertainment industry as a performer. Earning her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Houston, she began to learn the trade of Theatre and Film.

While in school, Meghann made extra money dressing wigs, running shows as a wig attendant, and also managing the costume rentals department for the University.

Finding that she had a natural talent for Makeup and wigs, once Meghann graduated from UH, her next move was to Los Angeles to attend The Westmore Academy of Cosmetic Arts and also to pursue acting. Both were accomplished!!

The Westmore Academy, with its historical reputation, allowed her to learn trade secrets while networking with some of the up and coming artists in Hollywood. It also allowed her to see how important her background as a performer was to her career as a Makeup Artist. They are forever intertwined, and her understanding of both could only make her a well-rounded artist.
